June 2026
Adaptive Training began operating as an active training coach.
The immediate objective was fat loss while maintaining strength, with a long-term goal of reaching sub-10% body fat.
The operating environment was intentionally realistic.
Training had to work around:
- a demanding full-time job
- inconsistent lunch windows
- toddler care
- an incoming newborn
- disrupted sleep
- short training windows
- changing recovery
- home-gym equipment
- occasional aches and movement limitations
Instead of designing training around ideal circumstances, Adaptive Training began adapting training to the circumstances available that day.
Typical workouts became short strength-conditioning circuits using kettlebells, dumbbells, barbells, bodyweight movements, a bike, and walking.
Sessions commonly lasted 15–30 minutes.
When necessary, they became shorter.
This established one of Adaptive Training's earliest principles:
The training prescription must adapt to real life rather than requiring real life to adapt to the training prescription.
